Thanking all the wonderful people who have supported us over our 30-year period raising money to take Veterans back to Normandy to visit their fallen comrades. Sadly, all our veterans have now departed this world and before losing the last few I promised I would switch our fundraising and construct a memorial rose garden and ‘Tree of Life’ memorial to honour fallen heroes from more recent conflicts including Northern Ireland, Iraq & Afghanistan.
Phase one of this, my final mission, is now complete and with your support I can now proudly announce that the rose garden will be officially opened on Sunday 3rd July to coincide with our Military vehicle rally here at the Anglia Motel at 12 noon by a representative from ‘Chosen Charity Shop’. We will assemble at the Motel from 11am with free refreshments before the short walk to the site led by a pipe band where a short service will be conducted by Pastor Ross Dene.
I would be delighted for anyone and everyone to come along and join us on the 3rd July on this special milestone moment and hopefully phase two, the construction and erection of the Tree of Life memorial will soon follow. Harold A Payne.
